Overcoming Challenges and Building Opportunities with Bioinformatics
The 2020 Bioinformatics Conference aims to bring together researchers, students, and professionals from the field of genomics and bioinformatics. Themed “#BioInfoPH: Overcoming Challenges, Building Opportunities”—the conference intends to surface the complexities of conducting bioinformatics and genomics research in the Philippines and therein address these challenges through the conference forum.

Call for applications: 2019-2020 Bioinformatics Training and Internship Program (Batch 04: Jan-Feb)
Student applicants must be undergraduate or graduate students in good academic standing, enrolled in a science or engineering course at an accredited college or university in the Philippines. Young professional applicants must have a BS degree in a science or engineering field, and be a researcher and/or faculty member employed at a research or higher education institution in the Philippines.

Application Deadline for 2nd, 3rd and 4th Batch of the Bioinformatics Training and Internship Program 2019-2020
The program extends to four (4) batches which will be held throughout 2019-2020. The training of the first batch will run from June 17-July 26 , 2019.

Bioinformatics Symposium: Building networks, creating a community
The Core Facility for Bioinformatics (CFB) will be hosting its first ever Bioinformatics symposium with the theme, “Building Networks, Creating a Community”. This will be held on March 20, 2019 at the PGC bldg. A. Ma. Regidor St. National Science Complex, UP Diliman, Quezon City, 1101.

Data Management Workshop
The short session on Data Management is organized for users of the PGC Bioinformatics facility last April 19, 2017 at the NIMBB Conference Room. Biological data is constantly increasing in size and complexity, and with these upcoming trends, the short workshop is conducted to be better equipped in handling these data on the CFB cluster.

PGC Delegates Attend the Winter Institute for Statistical Genetics 2017
Three members of the DNA Sequencing and Bioinformatics Facility of the Philippine Genome Center (PGC) attended the recently concluded Winter Institute for Statistical Genetics (WISG) held at the New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, last January 22-24, 2017.
