Storing human biospecimens and derivatives for research & extension services
A physical repository of biospecimens obtained from humans, plants, animals, and environmental samples and their derivatives (e.g., DNA, RNA, proteins, metabolites, processed blood, cells, microbes, and viruses). The Biobank Core Facility provides services for receiving, processing, storing, and distributing biospecimens and their derivatives to investigators for research and other relevant purposes.

- Policies
PGC follows the UP Policy on Human Bank which was approved by the University Board of Regents (BOR) and signed on July 28, 2022.
UP Biobanks must register in the UP Biobank Registry, providing CU, affiliation, biospecimens, operations duration/year, Curator, projects, and contact information.
