The Philippine Genome Center is facilitating a Bioinformatics Internship Program for incoming and current senior high school students of the University of the Philippines Integrated School (UPIS) slated on June 8-19, 2020. The internship training program is open to STEM students who have knowledge of PERL or PYTHON programming and who would like to learn how to analyze DNA sequences. The internship is designed to expose high school students to a series of theoretical lectures on the fundamentals of molecular biology as well as hands-on bioinformatics analysis. They will be working in silico on actual DNA sequences obtained from publicly available databases as well as those generated by the PGC Sequencing Facility.

To apply, fill out the form linked below. The applicant should have a strong foundation in science subjects and working knowledge in at least one (1) programming language. Applicants must be incoming and/or current senior high students at the UPIS.
