Notice to all conference registrants

The 2020 Bioinformatics Conference aims to bring together researchers, students, and professionals from the field of genomics and bioinformatics. Themed “#BioInfoPH: Overcoming Challenges, Building Opportunities”—the conference intends to surface the complexities of conducting bioinformatics and genomics research in the Philippines and therein address these challenges through the conference forum. The event hopes to set up opportunities for collaboration and networking among scientists engaging in research.

The conference will be held on May 5, 2020, Tuesday, 08:30 am – 05:00 pm at the National Institute of Physics, Big Auditorium, University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City. The event registration is free and open to students, researchers, and young professionals.

Registration to the 2020 Bioinformatics Conference is closed. Read below to know more about the Junior Bioinformatics Cup.

As an avenue to allow undergraduates to present their research work in the field of genomics and bioinformatics, and to inspire the next generation of scientists to pursue a career in genomics and bioinformatics, PGC is also holding the 1st Junior Bioinformatics Cup (JBC) during the 2020 Bioinformatics Conference. The JBC will be an undergraduate research competition, wherein five (5) undergraduate finalists will be chosen to present their current research work in poster format to a select group of judges from the speaker pool of the 2020 National Bioinformatics Conference.

  • Enrolled in an undergraduate degree in an accredited Higher Education Institute,
  • Must be involved in research work in one of the following fields:
o Genomics, transcriptomics and other ‘omics technologies
    o Modelling of biological systems
o Development of tools or techniques in bioinformatics analysis

To join, fill up the form and submit an extended abstract consisting of at most 1000 words and 3 figures and tables. JBC registrations must be submitted before March 16, 2020 at 11:59pm.
