DSCF conducts whole genome sequencing training for the Bureau of Animal Industry
From March 20 to 22, 2023, the DNA Sequencing Core Facility (DSCF) hosted an instructive training session on Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) tailored for the Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI). The participants were immersed in a comprehensive lecture on Molecular Biology Techniques for Genomics, gaining insights into the intricacies of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and its workflow.
The training also included:
Library Preparation
Library Quality Control
Troubleshooting – TruSeq Libraries
Library Normalization and Pooling
Denaturation and NovaSeq Loading
Applications of NGS
The training not only equipped the attendees with theoretical knowledge but also provided practical insights, assisting the Bureau of Animal Industry professionals in improving their capabilities of Whole Genome Sequencing for their research and diagnostic endeavors.
The DNA Sequencing Core Facility is committed to providing capacity-building training and contributing to the enhancement of academic and research infrastructure across the country.
